Family Update

It seems like all I'm doing lately is given bi-monthly updates :)  I'm not even sure how many people are still reading my blog!  But here's how we're doing, person-by-person:

Anna:  Her cast is off!  She is doing just fine although she is supposed to avoid high-risk activities for another week.  We haven't been to a park in five weeks and the kids are chomping at the bit to go.  She is loving school and is sailing through our reading book with very few bumps.  She's a joy to teach!

Ben and Matt:  Both are doing very well in school.  Matt will be getting his first pair of reading glasses soon!

Rob:  Still at home.  He will probably be off work until October 15th at least.  His chiropractor said he seems to have "turned a corner" and so hopefully we will start seeing improvement.

Me:  Still hanging in there.  I am almost done with my latest round of treatments for my sensory issues.  I had a bad weekend last week, but I was far too busy and paid for it.  Holding a garage sale is a lot harder than it looks, especially when I'm the muscle!!  And the kids made more money than we did, so maybe they should have done all of the work!

Another invalid update

Anna:  We saw the orthopedic doctor on Friday and she had more xrays.  They showed us the comparison with the first set taken right after she broke her arm.  The arm has indeed straightened, there is a bit of new bone growth to help strengthen the arm, and new bone is filling in the broken spot.  She is healing great!  The doc even said he wished all the adults he treats could heal as quickly as children.  We see him again in two weeks and hopefully the cast/splint can come off at that time.

Rob:  He saw the chiropractor on Friday and told him that he still has sharp pains periodically.  Turned out he had two ribs out of place!  He's been pretty sore since and the doc said Rob is worse off than he originally thought.  It's not looking too good for him to return to work this week either.  That puts us in a really tough spot as far as finances go, but we have already seen how marvelously God is taking care of us.

Me:  I went to an AM service!  First time in months!  I did have to use my ear plugs, but I consider it a success that I did not have to leave the service.  My parents are visiting and took us out for lunch and I was fine!  Usually a restaurant visit would really bother me after a church service, but I'm doing just fine.  Praise the Lord!!

The boys:  Both have thankfully kept themselves whole and well :)
