A New Adventure

Last Thursday, something very interesting happened that has sent the Litwiller household spinning. A meeting was held at Rob's workplace that ended up with him being laid off (or as Rob puts it, early forced retirement with no benefits). It was either lay off people or close down the factory, and at the rate they are going, the factory will probably close anyway.

So, where do we go from here? Rob has much praying to do. Does he look for teaching positions, a job in the area, or wait for a better career opportunity? We don't know. There are a few jobs around here that are possibilities and a few teaching positions available for next fall. We're not desparate (yet) as we have tax money to live on for a few months, but he will be diligently praying and searching.

In the meantime, he has some projects around the house that we were going to tackle in the summer that will be bumped up. We have been meaning to get to the basement and sort through tubs, as well as a storage closet. In between the job searches he will have plenty to keep him from being bored. (And if you know Rob, you know he hates to sit around doing nothing!)

I did have my "girl moment" on Thursday and cry for a bit, but we know God is in control. Neither one of us is disappointed and there is no animosity toward his former workplace. They hated to let him go. The president even had tears in his eyes during the meeting.

So that's what's happening in our world right now. Please keep us in your prayers as we take the next steps in our new adventure.

Also praying for you! My brother has been out of a job since November. :-( I know it's tough, but it's also a growing time. (That's what I'm telling myself about this upcoming deployment, too!) Hugs!
