Coffee, Juice, and Artichokes

This morning, Rob and I shot upstairs to get dressed after breakfast and left Anna finishing her breakfast in her booster seat with the tray in tact. Rob came back downstairs to find Anna in the middle of the table sitting in a pool of juice and coffee that she had spilt. She was happily helping herself to the remains of the boys' breakfasts. Crazy baby! Apparently, Rob had forgotten to strap her in before snapping her tray on. Won't make that mistake again!

One of our favorite treats when we were in California was fresh artichokes from Watsonville, the Artichoke capital. Today we treated the boys to two big ones and ushered them into the way of eating this strange plant. They actually scrapped off the leaves bare, but Rob and I like dipping them in a little mayo. Anna kept begging for some, but it's a little hard to scrape off the leaves to give to a baby. We did give her some of the heart, which she ignored because she wanted the leaf! The boys loved it and so did we.
